Wicker furniture is traditionally
thought of as furniture for outside in the garden, but over time it
has become more usual to think of it when furnishing a sun room,
summer house or conservatory. However, there is also a large demand
for bedroom wicker furniture which should be considered by anyone
considering decorating or furnishing a bedroom. The qualities that
make wicker great for outdoor use can also be used to theme a whole
bedroom around. Bedroom wicker furniture is created the same way as normal by having a solid frame which is them covered by an interwoven covering of bamboo, cane or rattan as well as some man made variants, the finished furniture can be left as unfinished bedroom furniture or painted along with a whole range of wood treatments to give the final effect you are after. In the bedroom it is common for the furniture to be painted white giving a clean airy and light feel to the room, in fact combined with some classic toile bedding the whole ensemble can feel very colonial. Today you can find all sorts of furniture in wicker available for the bedroom including complete wicker bedsteads. More common perhaps are wicker drawers, wardrobes and bedside tables, all pulled together with a rattan or bamboo headboard. One concern may be the durability of wicker, however it is not really an issue as it will fit with any bedroom theme, and as discussed previously can easily be painted to produce a completely different effect, it is strong and sturdy and can look both clean and modern as well as enhancing a classical look, so whatever style of bedroom you have in mind, wicker will fit right in.
